Our Vision
To our neighbors and fellow business owners, ​As we look ahead to an exciting year for our town, I want to take a moment to share a clear vision of what the Chamber of Commerce stands for—and why our work matters to every person who calls this community home. ​Often, when people think of the Chamber, they think of festivals and events. While we take great pride in these moments, it is important to understand the "why" behind the "what." ​The Chamber of Commerce is a business advocacy organization. ​Our primary purpose is to be the backbone of our local economy. Every event we host and every initiative we launch is designed with a strategic goal: assisting businesses in our city, to not only survive, but to thrive. ​Beyond the events that bring customers through our doors, the Chamber is making it a top priority to advocate for our businesses at the government level. We know that for a business to be successful, it needs a stable and protected environment. To that end, your Chamber leadership is: ​Active Representation: Joining local Flood Committees to ensure the voice of the business community is heard in vital infrastructure discussions. ​Government Liaison: Meeting directly with the County Council and local government to advocate for policies that support small business resilience. ​Proactive Research: Exploring and researching new ways to empower and protect our local economy through flood mitigation and disaster preparedness discussions. ​When we organize a community event that draws visitors from out of town, we are driving the revenue that keeps our town’s unique character alive. But when we sit at the committee table, we are fighting to protect the ground those businesses stand on. ​We invite you to see the Chamber as your partner in growth and your advocate in times of challenge. When our businesses are protected and supported, our entire community wins. ​Thank you for your continued support as we work to keep our town a vibrant, resilient place to live and work. ​
